Construction on the Bukha Waterfront Development Project in Oman’s Musandam Governorate has reached 95 percent completion, bringing the initiative closer to launch as part of ongoing efforts to enhance the region's tourism infrastructure. The project, spanning 26,000 square meters, aims to capitalize on Musandam’s natural coastal appeal while improving recreational amenities for residents and visitors.

Officials have described the development as a comprehensive tourism and leisure destination, designed to serve both the local population and tourists. Mohammed bin Saif al Jabri, Assistant Director-General of Musandam Municipality, emphasized that the waterfront will play a key role in attracting more visitors, driving tourism-related commercial activity, and creating new venues for leisure, sports, and community events.

The waterfront will feature an 800-meter seaside promenade, complemented by commercial kiosks, a boat rental facility, a seafront restaurant, and a children’s play area. Additional enhancements include water fountains, landscaped green spaces, and shaded seating to improve visitor comfort. The project also integrates supporting service facilities to enhance convenience and the overall tourism experience.

According to the Musandam Municipality, the development represents a major addition to the governorate’s tourism infrastructure, expected to contribute to the area’s coastal development and urban improvement. Officials anticipate the project will generate opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises through its commercial outlets and tourism-related services, helping to foster local entrepreneurship and economic growth.

This waterfront initiative is part of broader government efforts to bolster tourism facilities and public spaces in Musandam, reinforcing Bukha’s profile as an emerging destination within the region. The near-completion stage indicates that the site will soon open to the public, potentially boosting economic activity and quality of life in the governorate.
