South Northumberland reinforced their push for the Dukes ECB North East Premier League title with a commanding win at Hetton Lyons on Saturday. After bowling out the hosts for 123 runs, George Drissell and Calum Fletcher led the bowling effort with figures of 4-20 and 3-20 respectively. Chris Hewison and Solomon Bell then guided the visitors to a comfortable 127 for 2, with Bell remaining unbeaten on 50.

Chester-le-Street secured a straightforward home victory against Benwell Hill, electing to field first. Despite Rory Mustard’s half-century for the visitors, Ewan Hughes-Rowlands (4-61) and Jacob Heslop (3-48) dismantled their batting lineup. In response, Jacob McCann’s unbeaten 109 and Kyle Coetzer’s 53 not out powered Chester-le-Street to a three-wicket triumph in 187 for 2.

Ashington also recorded a strong win away at Felling. Jack Jessop and Yash Kothari compiled solid contributions of 72 and 84, respectively, to post 212. Although Paul Leonard (4-30) and Tom Slane (3-55) found early success with the ball, Felling’s innings faltered at 67-5. James Harmison and Kothari shared three wickets each as the hosts were bowled out for 110.

Burnmoor continued their fine run by defeating reigning champions Burnopfield. Early breakthroughs saw Burnopfield reduced to 25-3, but a middle-order recovery featuring Ben Coleman, Calum Gaffney, and John Oswell helped them reach 185. In reply, Burnmoor collapsed to 46-5 under pressure from Matthew Oswell’s 3-36. Despite a late rally, they finished all out for 158.

Shotley Bridge posted a challenging 250-6 on the road at Seaham Harbour, buoyed by strong performances from Jack Temple (72 not out), Hayden Mustard (42), and Kieran Milburn (40). Seaham’s Daniel Shurben scored 74 as the hosts fought back, but ultimately the match ended in a draw with Seaham Harbour closing at 230-9, thanks to Ian Pattison’s 49.

Newcastle amassed 311-8 against Castle Eden, anchored by Axel Cahlin’s 130 and Chris Youlden’s 76. Despite Mandeep Singh’s 48, Castle Eden were bowled out for 164, with Joseph Stuart and Joshua Stirling sharing the wickets to secure Newcastle’s victory.

Whitburn moved 19 points clear atop Division One following a win over Tynemouth. Stuart Walker and Chris Greaves contributed key innings of 66 and 74, respectively, as they declared on 253-8. Although Tynemouth started well, Greaves’ seven-wicket haul (7-39) led to their dismissal for 172.

Sunderland’s difficulties deepened after a defeat in the relegation battle against Willington. George Fairbairn’s 50 helped Sunderland to 144 before Banele Cele (4-28) and James Stock (3-21) took control. Willington closed comfortably at 147-3 with Ryan Nicholson and Jake Louth both scoring 52.

Boldon and Philadelphia settled for a draw after a hard-fought encounter. Lohan De Zoysa’s 78 led Boldon to 224-9, while Philadelphia recovered from 43-5 to 136-8, anchored by patient innings from Shaun Smith and Logan Barton. Andrew Stonehouse took 3-14 for Boldon.

At Gateshead Fell, Seaham Park’s 263-5 declaration fell short as Zak Momberg’s 108 and Suraj Singh’s 90 failed to secure victory. The Fell responded emphatically with a 266-2 chase, highlighted by an unbeaten 107 from Christian French and 103 from Ramanpreet Singh.

Sacriston remain near the bottom of the table following a four-wicket home defeat by Lanchester. Despite Jack Adams’ 58 and contributions from Louis Anderson and Chris Rushworth, Sacriston were undone by Callum Barnes’ six-wicket haul. Lanchester’s pursuit was helped by John Meadows’ 54 and Charlie Mustard’s unbeaten 66.

Newcastle City boosted their chances of avoiding relegation with a five-wicket win at Tynedale. After posting 246-7 with Ted Fletcher’s 71 not out, City successfully chased 251-5, led by an unbeaten 83 from Shafqat Ullah and 73 from Hamzah Amin.
