Burgess Hill Town extended their unbeaten run to four matches with a 2-1 victory over Dartford in front of 1,061 spectators on Saturday. The match, held on the bank holiday, saw a quiet opening period before Burgess Hill began to assert dominance through a series of set-piece opportunities.

The breakthrough came after 30 minutes when Ben Pope capitalized on a clearance failure by the Dartford defense. Controlling the ball deftly, Pope struck a half-volley that curved over goalkeeper Ryan Sandford into the top corner. Following the opener, Burgess Hill maintained pressure and appeared poised to add a second goal.

However, Dartford responded just before halftime in an unexpected fashion. Jez Pinder delivered a cross that, helped by the wind, sailed over everyone inside the box and went directly into the net, equalizing for the visitors 30 seconds before the interval.

In the second half, Dartford began strongly, pressing higher up the field. Despite their initial momentum, the away team created few clear chances. With two minutes remaining, Shamir Fenelon made a decisive run down the right flank and cut the ball back to Pope, who struck a powerful shot to secure the winning goal. The result ensured Burgess Hill Town kept their unbeaten streak alive, while Dartford suffered their second successive defeat.
