A man accused of attempting to break into the home of Labour peer Luciana Berger was identified in court in part by a distinctive physical feature, it was reported Thursday. Sarbast Lokman, 34, faces charges related to an incident on April 11, when he allegedly attempted to enter Berger’s residence. The following day, he is accused of stealing three pairs of wellington boots, sunglasses, and a candle valued at approximately £350 from her garden and vehicle.
During proceedings at the City of London Justice of the Peace Court, footage showed the suspect wearing the same clothing on multiple days. An officer testified that the man’s uniquely shaped nose—a large, flat nose that curved to one side—was a key factor in identifying him.
Lokman, who resides in Finchley and is of Kurdish background, has denied all charges against him. In addition to the allegations involving Luciana Berger’s property, he is also accused of attempting to break into a separate home in Enfield. The trial is ongoing.
