Bury secured their first away victory of the season with a 3-2 win over Alfreton Town in a closely contested match on Saturday. The game, played at Alfreton’s home ground, featured a series of lead changes and ended with a spectacular late goal from DJ Pedro.

Bury opened the scoring in the 18th minute when Rustam Stepans converted from a free-kick near the corner flag. Stepans found space at the near post, catching Alfreton goalkeeper Alfie Roberts off guard. The visitors extended their lead six minutes later after a corner kick led to a penalty. Connor Pye was pushed over at the back post, and Owen Robinson successfully converted the spot-kick to put Bury 2-0 ahead.

Alfreton responded just before halftime, with Siya Ligendza pulling a goal back in the first minute of stoppage time. Ligendza took advantage of a well-placed ball behind the Bury defense, firing a first-time shot from a tight angle that beat keeper Mitch Allen at his near post.

The Reds continued their comeback in the 69th minute when Ligendza delivered a precise cross from the right flank. Daniel Odiunaiay was on hand in the six-yard box to steer the ball into the net, leveling the score at 2-2.

However, Bury reclaimed the lead dramatically in the 88th minute through DJ Pedro’s late strike. When the ball bounced in front of him near the edge of the penalty area, Pedro hit a powerful half-volley that soared over Roberts, sealing the victory for the visitors.

This result marks a significant milestone for Bury as they break their away-wicket drought, while Alfreton Town will look to regroup after surrendering a two-goal lead in front of their home supporters.
