Two buses collided head-on near a Pentagon bus stop on Friday morning, injuring 23 people, including members of the Defense Department. The incident occurred shortly before 7:30 a.m. at a location near the Metro Access Road, according to a statement from the Pentagon Force Protection Agency.

The vehicles involved were an Omni Ride bus and a Fairfax Connector transit bus. Emergency responders transported 18 of the injured individuals to local hospitals for further medical evaluation, while five others received treatment at the scene. Among those hurt, 10 passengers were identified as Defense Department personnel.

The crash prompted the closure of Metro Access Road as authorities conducted an investigation into the cause of the collision. The disruption also affected mass transit operations in the vicinity for several hours. Footage from the scene captured the moment the two buses collided.
