A Louisiana man has been charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of four family members during an incident that left a young child critically injured. Authorities identified the suspect as Kaegan Jude Solet, 47, who was arrested following the attack on Saturday at a residence in Houma, Terrebonne Parish.
According to the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office, Solet was known to the victims. The deceased have been identified as Verna Mae Verdin, along with her adult children, Letha Verret and Paul Verret, and Paul’s partner, Krissy Lynn Parfait, according to a family member who shared information through a GoFundMe page.
A 6-year-old boy present in the home during the attack was also injured. The child, who was reportedly spending the night with his grandmother, Letha Verret, sustained serious wounds but was able to escape and seek help. He was subsequently airlifted to a hospital and remains in critical condition.
The circumstances leading to the stabbing spree have not been fully disclosed, and investigators continue to examine the motive behind the assault. Officials have not released additional details about Solet’s background or relationship with the victims. The case remains under active investigation.
