Buxton ended Oxford City’s unbeaten run with a 3-2 victory in a closely contested match on Friday night. The away side took control early on, with Sisa Tuntulwana testing goalkeeper Jonny Maxted before breaking the deadlock in the 10th minute by capitalizing on a through ball. Buxton extended their lead to 2-0 on the half-hour mark when Kieran Burton headed in from a corner.

Despite opportunities for Buxton to put the game beyond doubt before halftime, vital interventions by Oxford City’s Evan Humphries and Ludwig Francillette kept the deficit manageable. Humphries blocked a goal-bound attempt on the line, and Francillette recovered from a slip to deny Buxton another scoring chance.

Tuntulwana sealed the win for Buxton with a third goal ten minutes from time, finishing off a swift counterattack. Oxford City, however, fought back late in the match, with Marsh scoring in the 98th minute, but it was insufficient to prevent their first defeat of the season.
