Chinese actor and singer Zhou Yiran, 25, recently attended Louis Vuitton’s Savoir Rever showcase held at the Allanbrooke Estate in Sentosa, Singapore, where the luxury brand displayed an array of intricate trunks and travel-inspired objects. Known primarily for his roles in Chinese dramas, Zhou shared insights into his multifaceted career and personal interests during the event on October 11, coinciding with the Singapore Grand Prix.
Born in Chongqing in 2000, Zhou initially debuted as a singer in 2017 before transitioning to acting. He gained international recognition for his portrayal of Zhang Lurang in the 2023 coming-of-age romance drama *When I Fly Towards You*. More recently, he starred alongside Bao Shangen in the 2026 wuxia romance *Generation To Generation* and appeared in the historical drama *Ashes To Crown* with Chen Duling.
Beyond the entertainment industry, Zhou has developed a strong involvement in competitive racing, a passion he began pursuing in 2023. His interest sparked after meeting a racing coach while filming the television drama *Reborn* (2025). Since then, his participation in motorsports has deepened. In July, Zhou, together with driver Liu Taiji, competed for Frankenstein Racing at the China GT Championship’s Zhuhai round, piloting a Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2. The duo secured second place overall in their first GTC race and claimed first place in the GTC amateur class at the event, which China GT bills as the country’s premier national supercar championship certified by the Federation of Automobile and Motorcycle Sports of China.
In addition, Zhou and two teammates achieved a podium finish in September’s Shanghai 8 Hours endurance race, placing third in the demanding eight-hour competition. When asked about his preferred Formula 1 drivers, Zhou named Max Verstappen of Red Bull and Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, whom he had the opportunity to watch firsthand at the Marina Bay Street Circuit during the Grand Prix weekend, where Verstappen secured his first victory in Singapore and Leclerc finished second.
At the Louis Vuitton event, Zhou expressed a preference for low-key downtime, emphasizing the importance of rest. He described his private life as simple, often spending time at home recharging. Despite his public persona, he values a more relaxed lifestyle away from the spotlight, which is reflected in his admiration for a playful pinball machine featured at the showcase—a piece he imagined enjoying with friends in a casual setting.
When discussing his approach to acting, Zhou revealed that he is not necessarily drawn to the most challenging roles but prefers characters that resonate with him personally. This compatibility allows him to enrich his performances by incorporating his own interpretations. He also refrained from choosing between modern and period dramas, stating his interest is driven primarily by the strength of the script and character rather than genre.
During his second visit to Singapore, Zhou noted the city’s tropical climate as a distinctive feature and suggested it would be an ideal retreat from China’s colder winters. He also recalled sampling bak kut teh, a local pork rib soup dish, which left a memorable impression on him.
Zhou was officially named a Friend of the House at the Louis Vuitton event, underscoring his emerging profile not only in entertainment but also in lifestyle and sports circles.
