Qatar’s Cabinet issued a strong condemnation of recent attacks by Houthi forces and Iran targeting neighboring countries Saudi Arabia and Jordan. The statements came during a Cabinet meeting led by the Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi, held on September 17, 2026.

The Cabinet denounced ballistic missile and drone strikes launched by the Houthis against civilian areas in Saudi Arabian cities including Khamis Mushait, Abha, and Taif. These attacks reportedly resulted in injuries and damage to residential properties and vehicles. The Qatari government characterized the assaults as clear violations of Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and breaches of international law.

In addition, the Cabinet condemned drone attacks originating from Iraq that targeted the East-West oil pipeline spanning the Riyadh and Medina regions in Saudi Arabia. These assaults caused casualties and inflicted material damage on critical infrastructure.

Qatar affirmed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia in response to these incidents and expressed support for the protective measures implemented by the Kingdom to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity. The Cabinet highlighted that the security of Saudi Arabia is intrinsically linked to Qatar’s own security as well as the broader collective security framework of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states.

The Cabinet also expressed condemnation of renewed Iranian attacks against Jordan, labeling them violations of Jordan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, international law, and the United Nations Charter. The statement underscored Qatar’s stance against actions undermining regional stability and emphasized respect for international norms.

These condemnations reflect broader regional tensions amid ongoing conflicts involving proxy groups and state actors in the Middle East. Qatar’s position aligns with its commitment to the security and stability of the Gulf region and its neighboring countries.
