Clark scored 27 points and dished out 15 assists, becoming the first player in league history to record a points-assists double-double in the first half of a playoff game, with 14 points and 11 assists in the opening 20 minutes.

Clark’s all-around energy on both ends of the court was pivotal in Indiana’s effort to even the best-of-three series at 1-1. Kelsey Mitchell complemented Clark’s efforts by adding 26 points as the Fever maintained control for much of the game. Indiana Head Coach Stephanie White praised Clark’s game management and defensive intensity, highlighting her ability to facilitate offense and lead the team with consistent energy throughout the contest.

The contest featured a tense moment in the fourth quarter when an exchange occurred between four-time league MVP A’ja Wilson and a fan following a foul call on Sophie Cunningham. Wilson was issued a technical foul for leaving the court but was not ejected. Security briefly removed the fan involved, though the Fever later stated he did not violate the arena’s fan code of conduct and was allowed to return. Las Vegas Coach Becky Hammon acknowledged the unusual nature of Wilson’s reaction, saying it reflected how disrespected Wilson felt in the incident.

The event appeared to spur the Aces, who were trailing 90-79 with just over four minutes remaining. After Clark fouled out with 2:45 left in the game, the Aces narrowed the gap to 92-87. However, Indiana held on for the win, preventing Las Vegas from closing out the series on home court.

The game marked a reversal of fortunes following Game 1, in which Wilson had dominated the paint and Las Vegas controlled the flow. In this game, Jackie Young led the Aces with 31 points, while Wilson posted 22 points and nine rebounds, moving past Rebekkah Brunson for fourth place on the league’s all-time playoff scoring list.

Las Vegas appeared to gain early momentum, closing the first quarter with a 9-2 run and extending their lead to 29-18 early in the second quarter. However, Clark responded emphatically, igniting a 20-6 Fever run with an aggressive defensive play and a series of precise passes. The run ended with a basket by Raven Johnson, giving Indiana a 46-39 lead that they would not relinquish.

Clark emphasized the urgency felt by the Fever as they faced elimination. “Your back’s against the wall. This is the only opportunity you’re guaranteed to have,” she said. “We had the mentality like this was one we were going to win, no matter what and do it for our fans.”

Game 3 of the series is scheduled for Thursday in Las Vegas, where the winner will advance further in the postseason.
