The incident took place after Caleb was deceived by an AI-generated version of Steph, a person known to him, which led to personal embarrassment and frustration. Ruby, another individual involved, revealed that the scammer possessed private information about Laurel and Ross, raising concerns about the breach of privacy and prompting Caleb to report the matter to the police.

In a related development, Kerry and Archie have reportedly been attempting to exploit the AI Steph impersonation to extract additional funds from Caleb. However, their efforts were disrupted when Pollard caught them in the act.
