Activision is set to release the latest installment of the Call of Duty franchise on October 23, 2026, featuring a narrative centered on a renewed conflict between North and South Korea. The upcoming game promises an expansive, cinematic war experience that extends beyond the Korean Peninsula to multiple global locations.

A recently unveiled trailer depicts a sudden assault by North Korean forces on South Korea, triggering widespread combat. Central to the storyline is the return of British operative Captain Price, who is portrayed engaging in diverse and intense battles worldwide. Players can expect missions ranging from close-quarters engagements in New York and high-speed car chases through Paris to Special Air Service (SAS) night raids in Mumbai, culminating in trench warfare scenes set in Korea.

The multiplayer component of the game emphasizes precise, tactical combat enhanced by fluid movement mechanics designed to provide players with increased control. A notable feature called Ballistic Authority introduces a new approach focused on delivering more realistic gunplay. At launch, the multiplayer mode will include 12 maps set across varied, visually distinct environments. Additionally, the Kill Block mode offers a dynamic battlefield that reconfigures its layout between rounds, providing over 500 possible map configurations.

Call of Duty’s DMZ mode, described as a definitive extraction-based experience, also returns. This mode challenges solo players and squads to navigate a constantly evolving combat zone where each deployment differs, enhancing replayability and strategic decision-making.

The game will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC at release. Notably, this edition will mark the franchise's debut on the Nintendo Switch 2 platform, expanding its accessibility to a broader audience.
