Prominent actor Aung Khine has advocated for the addition of two more Myanmar Academy Awards specifically recognizing supporting actors, citing a longstanding lack of acknowledgment for their contributions within the Myanmar film industry. His remarks came in connection with the forthcoming film "Hlwa Hlat Lwint Wa," produced by Alpha Picture Hub, which he praised for spotlighting the work of supporting performers.

Aung Khine emphasized that supporting actors have often been overlooked despite their pivotal roles in storytelling. While some have received awards in the past, he noted that many talented individuals playing supporting roles have not been suitably recognized. “I’m grateful that this film allows genuine supporting actors to shine,” he said, underscoring the need for the industry to extend proper consideration to those who contribute behind the leading stars.

He expressed hope that expanding the Academy’s categories to include two additional awards for supporting actors would better honor their craft, stating that such a change would bring immense satisfaction. The call highlights ongoing discussions within the Myanmar film community about enhancing recognition frameworks to reflect the diverse talents contributing to cinematic productions.
