Shares of Capri Holdings surged more than 19 percent on Friday following the company's upward revision of its annual revenue and profit forecasts. The luxury apparel group cited expectations of a sales rebound driven by new product launches, heightened marketing efforts, and seasonal demand.
Capri Holdings, which owns the Michael Kors brand among others, has been focused on revitalizing demand at Michael Kors amid cautious consumer spending on discretionary items. Despite an 8.6 percent decline in Michael Kors revenue for the most recent quarter, the company anticipates an improvement in revenue trends during the third quarter and a return to growth in the fourth quarter.
Chief Executive John Idol highlighted that the anticipated growth will be supported by the rollout of new collections, increased marketing investment, and stronger holiday demand. The revised guidance projects fiscal year 2027 revenue at $3.42 billion, a slight increase from the previous forecast of $3.40 billion and marginally above analyst estimates of $3.41 billion, according to data from LSEG.
The company’s positive outlook reflects its strategy to stimulate consumer interest and adapt to changing market conditions in the luxury retail sector. Capri Holdings’ shares responded strongly to the update, reflecting investor confidence in the brand’s recovery prospects despite recent headwinds in its flagship Michael Kors segment.
