Model and entrepreneur Caprice Bourret has relocated her family from London to Ibiza, citing concerns over violent crime and safety issues in the British capital. Bourret, 54, who recently has focused on producing and starring in Christmas romantic films such as *A Scottish Christmas Secret*, described the move as a necessary step after a series of violent incidents near her home.
Speaking at a Mayfair event, Bourret revealed that two murders occurred directly outside her West London residence, including one involving a man named Tyrone—known as Ty—sharing the same name as her husband, financier Ty Comfort. “He died right on my doorstep,” Bourret said. “Ty was, like, ‘OK, right, we’re out.’” She described these incidents as the final impetus for selling their £12 million, Grade II-listed six-bedroom mansion and relocating with their two sons, Jax and Jett, both aged 13.
Bourret, originally from California and of Jewish heritage, has previously spoken publicly about experiencing anti-Semitic threats in London, leading her to remove a Mezuzah—a small case containing Torah verses traditionally affixed to doorframes—from her home. She indicated that such concerns are lessened in their new environment, praising Ibiza as a safer place for her family and one where her children enjoy greater freedom.
“It’s so safe,” she said of Ibiza, adding that her sons can “go around on their scooters everywhere” with less worry compared to London. The move comes amid ongoing debates about crime levels in the UK capital under Labour mayor Sadiq Khan’s administration, with some residents citing safety concerns as a motivating factor for relocation.
Bourret’s decision to leave London reflects a broader trend of families and professionals seeking quieter and perceived safer locales outside major urban centers. The family’s move to the Spanish island underscores the continuing challenges faced by residents in some metropolitan areas grappling with violent crime and social tensions.
