Zeekr Intelligent Technology Malaysia recently hosted its first Zeekr Cup Elite Golf Championship Malaysia, an event designed to strengthen its growing owner community and celebrate a key sales milestone. The championship, held in Malaysia shortly after the brand surpassed 5,000 cumulative owners in the country, brought together Zeekr owners from Malaysia and China, alongside business partners and invited guests.

The inaugural tournament centered around an 18-hole golf competition, with a Zeekr 009 vehicle offered as the prize for a hole-in-one. In addition to the competitive element, the event featured lifestyle workshops, family-friendly activities, and exclusive opportunities to test drive Zeekr vehicles. These offerings were aimed at fostering a holistic ownership experience that goes beyond the purchase and use of the car itself.

Eddy Lu, general manager of Zeekr Malaysia, emphasized the significance of the milestone and the championship’s role in nurturing a sense of community among owners. “Reaching 5,000 owners was an important milestone for Zeekr Malaysia, and we see it as the beginning of the next chapter in building a community around the brand,” he said. Lu highlighted the company’s intention to use shared interests such as golf to deepen engagement with its customers, thereby extending the brand’s appeal through lifestyle-oriented experiences.

The championship also built upon Zeekr Malaysia’s existing involvement in the local golfing scene, following the company’s sponsorship of the Tropicana Golf Club 32nd Anniversary Cup earlier this year. By establishing a dedicated platform for Zeekr owners with a shared passion for golf, the company aims to enhance the ownership journey with activities that align with the aspirations and interests of its clientele.

According to Lu, the event went beyond competition by offering a curated program that catered to golfers, families, and people new to the Zeekr brand, fostering an inclusive atmosphere throughout the day. He described the championship as a reflection of Zeekr’s premium ownership philosophy, which combines innovative products with strong community engagement.

The gathering also served as an opportunity for Zeekr owners from Malaysia and China to interact, exchange experiences, and build connections. Lu noted that as Zeekr continues to expand globally, events like this represent initial steps toward creating an interconnected international Zeekr owner community, particularly through golf-related activities.

Looking forward, Zeekr Malaysia plans to further leverage golf as a platform for owner engagement, with ambitions to develop a unified global Zeekr golfing community over time.

Zeekr is the electric mobility technology brand under the Geely Holding Group. Lu explained that the brand focuses on building an integrated user ecosystem powered by innovation, utilizing its Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA), proprietary battery technologies, battery management systems, electric motor technologies, and an electric vehicle supply chain.
