Four people, including a baby, died following a single-vehicle crash near Derby late Saturday night. The incident occurred at approximately 11 p.m. on a stretch of road between the A50 Toyota Island and the A516.

A red Hyundai carrying five occupants left the roadway and collided with trees. Two female passengers, believed to be between the ages of 18 and 30, were pronounced dead at the scene, along with a 36-year-old male passenger. All three were residents of Leeds. A baby girl, also involved in the crash, was taken to a hospital where she later died.

The vehicle’s driver, a 33-year-old man, sustained serious injuries and remains hospitalized. Authorities have arrested him on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances that led to the crash. No further details regarding the cause of the collision have been released at this time.
