A vehicle overturned in a single-car accident near Port Wakefield on Sunday afternoon, landing upside down in a paddock adjacent to a major highway. Emergency services responded to the scene shortly after the crash, which occurred around 4 p.m. on the Copper Coast Highway, just southeast of the Yorke Highway intersection. The driver sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to hospital for treatment.

Earlier the same day, emergency crews were called to a separate crash on Murdoch Hill Road in Woodside shortly before 12:30 p.m. Authorities reported that a vehicle had collided with a tree in the incident. A 67-year-old local man was seriously injured and transported to hospital for care.

Both crashes coincided with the running of the Adelaide Hills Rally near Mount Barker, though no direct connection between the events has been indicated by officials. Emergency services continue to investigate the causes of the accidents.
