Cardiff City midfielder Krystian Bielik was involved in a confrontation with a fan during the club’s 2-0 Championship loss to Portsmouth at Fratton Park. The incident took place in the 70th minute as Cardiff sought to mount a comeback in the match.
Footage from the game shows Bielik attempting to retrieve the ball from the stands, where a young Portsmouth supporter appeared to throw it away from the player. In response, Bielik reached toward the fan’s throat and pushed them, prompting the supporter to stand and seemingly attempt to push back. Another spectator then threw a ball toward Bielik, which instead struck Cardiff defender Perry Ng.
Following a brief disruption, the stadium stewards ejected the fan involved in the initial altercation. Cardiff’s Bielik was not disciplined by officials. The match concluded with Portsmouth securing victory through goals by Conor Shaughnessy and Marko Milovanovic, scored just before and after halftime respectively.
