Commercial Bank of Dubai (CBD) reported a pre-tax profit of Dh2.95 billion for the first nine months of 2026, marking a 4.1 percent increase compared to the same period last year, the bank announced on October 21. The third quarter was particularly strong, with pre-tax profit reaching Dh1.06 billion, up 9.2 percent from the previous quarter. Net profit after tax for the quarter rose 9.4 percent to Dh969 million, supported by a 9.7 percent increase in net interest income.

Operating income for the nine-month period totaled Dh4.44 billion, representing a modest 0.9 percent increase. Growth in non-funded income, which rose 2.6 percent, was driven by higher fees and commissions. Net interest income edged up 0.2 percent, reflecting expansion in the bank’s loan portfolio as well as growth in low-cost current and savings account (CASA) deposits.

Operating expenses increased 1.4 percent to Dh1.18 billion, primarily due to higher spending on digitization, technology, governance, and compliance. Despite this, CBD maintained an efficient cost-to-income ratio of 26.53 percent. The bank’s net impairment losses declined 22.6 percent to Dh314 million, while corporate tax expense increased 4.2 percent to Dh264 million. Return on equity after tax stood at 21.38 percent.

Total assets reached Dh167.9 billion as of September 30, 2026, up 4.7 percent from the end of 2025. Net loans and advances expanded 8.5 percent to Dh109.6 billion, supporting the bank’s growth trajectory. Customer deposits grew 0.7 percent to Dh112.2 billion, with CASA deposits accounting for half of the total deposit base. The loan-to-deposit ratio was recorded at 97.75 percent.

CBD’s capital position remained robust, with a capital adequacy ratio of 15.53 percent, a Tier 1 capital ratio of 14.39 percent, and a Common Equity Tier 1 ratio of 12.71 percent. All three ratios exceed the minimum requirements set by the Central Banks of the United Arab Emirates.
