The Community College of Qatar (CCQ) held its second graduation ceremony of 2026, recognizing 652 students and marking its largest graduating class to date, with a total of 1,162 graduates across both days. Among those honored were 565 recipients of associate diplomas and 87 graduates from the Higher Education Certificate program in Early Childhood Education.
The event took place under the patronage of Minister of Education and Higher Education HE Lolwah Al Khater, who attended as the guest of honor. The ceremony also acknowledged outstanding students for their academic excellence.
In his opening remarks, CCQ President Dr. Khalid Al Horr emphasized the institution’s commitment to continuous education. He outlined the college’s approach, which facilitates student progression from certificates to diplomas and ultimately to bachelor’s degree programs. This model aligns with Qatar National Vision 2030, which prioritizes human development and lifelong learning as key components of the country’s long-term strategy.
Dr. Al Horr highlighted that many associate diploma graduates are actively pursuing bachelor’s degrees at CCQ, underscoring the associate diploma as a stepping stone rather than a final endpoint in academic achievement. He further commended graduates who returned to education after extended absences, balancing studies with employment and family obligations.
The Early Childhood Education program was developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education to equip Qatari professionals with the skills necessary for nurturing young learners in the early stages of schooling.
Graduate Dalal Al Shammari addressed the audience on behalf of her peers, reflecting on their shared journey. She noted that success extended beyond academic milestones to include personal growth and the acquisition of values. Al Shammari acknowledged the challenges of managing work, family, and study commitments while maintaining a dedication to ongoing academic and professional advancement.
The ceremony also featured testimonials from graduates who returned to education to enhance their career opportunities, illustrating the role of CCQ programs in supporting diverse student needs and aspirations.
