Tech Oman recently hosted its inaugural Women in Tech event in Muscat, marking one of the country’s most prominent gatherings dedicated to empowering women in the technology sector. The event attracted a diverse audience, including professionals, aspiring leaders, students, entrepreneurs, and their families, who came together for an evening focused on inspiration, recognition, networking, and entertainment.
The program featured more than a dozen distinguished women leaders who shared their experiences and perspectives across various areas of technology, including leadership, innovation, entrepreneurship, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and the future of the industry. These panel discussions and moderated sessions provided attendees with insights into both the challenges and opportunities facing women in tech.
Tariq al Barwani, Founder and President of Tech Oman, emphasized that the event was designed to go beyond a typical conference. “This event was never intended to be just another conference—it was designed to celebrate the remarkable women who are transforming Oman’s technology landscape while inspiring many more to follow in their footsteps,” he said. He added that the strong turnout, which included women, their families, and industry leaders, signaled a clear commitment within Oman to promoting diversity in the technology field.
Given the positive reception from participants and partners, Tech Oman plans to establish the Women in Tech event as an annual feature. The organization aims to use the occasion to continue recognizing women’s achievements, fostering collaboration, and encouraging greater female representation in leadership roles across the nation’s technology sector.
