Central Global Bhd (CGB) has announced plans to undertake a private placement of up to 10% of its issued shares, aiming to raise between RM79.3 million and RM83.3 million. The funds are intended primarily to support the company’s ongoing construction projects and general working capital needs.

According to a filing with Bursa Malaysia, approximately 80% of the proceeds—estimated between RM64 million and RM67 million—will be allocated to two key projects: the Lahad Datu water supply system and the Pan Borneo Highway upgrading works. The Lahad Datu project, with a contract value of RM290.3 million, was reported to be 94.3% complete as of August 27, while the Pan Borneo Highway project, valued at RM618.3 million, was 22.4% finished.

Central Global currently has four active construction contracts totaling RM1.1 billion in value. As of now, RM513.5 million of the contract value remains outstanding. The company indicated that the private placement would provide necessary capital to ensure continued progress on these initiatives and to bolster its operational liquidity.
