Wrexham secured their first victory of the Championship season with a convincing 3-0 win over Millwall on Friday, replicating a similar outcome to last term when they also claimed their maiden win at The Den. The match’s opening goal came when Issa Kabore’s cross deflected off Millwall defender Zak Sturge and beat goalkeeper Max Crocombe. In the second half, Kieffer Moore doubled Wrexham’s advantage with a curling strike from about 20 yards, before Jacques Ekomie sealed the win with a goal in the 69th minute.

Elsewhere, West Bromwich Albion maintained their unbeaten home run by drawing 1-1 against Charlton Athletic at The Hawthorns. The Baggies extended their streak to nine games without defeat at home, taking the lead in the 59th minute through Callum Styles, who struck a half-volley into the net. Charlton responded ten minutes later with Tyreece Campbell scoring a powerful equaliser, preventing West Brom from securing all three points and halting Charlton’s bid to reclaim the top spot in the table.

Queens Park Rangers (QPR) climbed to 10 points alongside league leaders Swansea City and Charlton by overcoming Cardiff City 2-1. Cardiff initially took the lead through Rumarn Burrell, who then doubled his tally in the 53rd minute to put the hosts ahead by two goals. However, QPR reduced the deficit in the 74th minute when Perry Ng scored, making the closing stages tense, though the home side held on for the win.

Burnley’s struggles continued as they extended their winless start to the campaign with a 1-1 draw against Middlesbrough at Turf Moor. Middlesbrough took the lead in the first half through Aidan Morris, but Burnley levelled after the break thanks to Ugo Raghouber’s curling effort, ensuring the hosts salvaged a point.

The results kept the Championship season competitive in its early stages, with several clubs jockeying closely near the top of the standings after the latest round of matches.
