The event, which brought together Malvern Town Football Club and Malvern Rugby Club, aimed to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support while fostering a spirit of camaraderie among the town’s athletes.
Malvern Town, preparing for their inaugural season at Step 3 in the Southern League Premier South, took the field in cricket gear to face Malvern Rugby Club in a closely contested match. Players, staff, and club directors from both teams participated, showcasing a range of cricketing skills and enjoying the friendly competition.
Ultimately, Malvern Town emerged as the match winners, though the focus remained on the charitable cause and community engagement. The event successfully raised over £600 for Macmillan Cancer Support, highlighting the local sporting community’s commitment to supporting charitable initiatives.
