Tyreece Campbell ensured Charlton Athletic extended their unbeaten run with a 1-1 draw against West Bromwich Albion in a Championship clash on Thursday. The result, played at Charlton’s home ground, ended the Addicks’ perfect start to the season but left them in second place on goal difference.

West Brom took the lead in the 60th minute through left-back Callum Styles, who scored his first goal in 16 months. The goal came shortly after a well-executed corner, following a notable save by Charlton goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo from Rabby Nzingoula’s effort. Styles capitalized on the opportunity when the ball fell to him in the penalty area, giving the visitors an advantage.

However, Charlton responded nine minutes later as Campbell, who has already netted four goals this season, converted their first shot on target to level the match. His strike ensured the home team secured a valuable point.

Charlton manager Nathan Jones acknowledged the challenge ahead despite the positive start. “Let’s not mess about, we’re the favourites to go down – we’re told we can’t sustain this,” he said. “But we’re on the same trajectory as we were at Luton. I’m proud of how far we’ve come here.”

The draw keeps Charlton unbeaten early in the campaign and maintains momentum as the club looks to secure promotion, while West Brom remains in contention following a competitive display.
