The Chartered Accountants Students’ Society (CASS) of CA Sri Lanka has officially announced the 40th International CA Students’ Conference, scheduled for September 1, 2026, at Monarch Imperial. Marking four decades since its inception, the conference will convene Chartered Accountancy students, professionals, business leaders, and distinguished delegates from the region to reflect on the profession’s heritage and its future trajectory.
The announcement was made at a press briefing held at CA Sri Lanka, led by the CASS Executive Committee, including President Thilina Pinsara; Vice Presidents Ishan Rathnayaka (Non-Public Practice) and Salaka Nanayakkara (Public Practice); General Secretary Frayan Theekshana; and Education Secretary and Conference Chairperson Hasala Sithum.
Addressing attendees, CASS President Thilina Pinsara underscored the society’s commitment to fostering connection, collaboration, and growth among its community. He described CASS as the official representative body for over 40,000 Chartered Accountancy students in Sri Lanka, emphasizing the society’s broader role beyond academic engagement to creating lasting value in the profession.
The conference theme, "Legacy 40: Orchestrating the Profession’s Future," was introduced by Hasala Sithum, who highlighted the responsibility of the current generation to build upon the profession’s enduring legacy. The event will focus on five critical areas: strengthening the CA brand, the transition from technical accountants to strategic leaders, digital transformation and emerging technologies, sustainability and responsible leadership, and enhancing global employability alongside professional excellence.
Vice President for Public Practice, Salaka Nanayakkara, provided an overview of CASS’s history and the foundational contributions of past student members who have shaped the society over the years. Meanwhile, General Secretary Frayan Theekshana reviewed milestones from previous conferences, illustrating the event’s evolution into a key platform for education, networking, and professional development within the Chartered Accountancy community.
The occasion also featured the launch of the 22nd edition of Fusion Magazine, CASS’s flagship publication, unveiled by Vice President Ishan Rathnayaka. The magazine continues its tradition of delivering insights and perspectives relevant to both CA students and professionals.
The briefing included a presentation of the conference’s sponsorship partners through a reveal video, acknowledging their role in supporting the organisation of the landmark event. The session concluded with a vote of thanks from Public Relations Secretary Ishma Jiffry.
As CASS prepares to mark 40 years of its International CA Students’ Conference, the upcoming edition seeks not only to celebrate the profession’s legacy but also to empower the next generation to lead and innovate in a rapidly changing environment.
