Chertsey established control early, opening the scoring in the 25th minute through Jaheim Kamara. The lead was quickly extended just three minutes later when Lachlan Byrd doubled the advantage, putting AFC Greenwich Borough on the back foot heading into halftime. The hosts maintained dominance and added a third goal in first-half stoppage time, with Bradley Wilson finding the net to put Chertsey in a commanding position. Borough goalkeeper Peter Balogun faced limited protection as Chertsey capitalized on their superiority throughout the first half.

Greenwich made tactical adjustments during the break, which appeared to galvanize the visitors.
