The Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) has issued a request for proposals (RFP) to engage qualified organizations in delivering a community-based cancer prevention program focusing on breast, cervical, and colorectal cancers. The initiative, titled "Navigating Health Together," aims to enhance access to cancer prevention, early detection, patient navigation, and follow-up care specifically for Black and Latina women in Chicago. The program will prioritize services for uninsured and underinsured individuals residing in neighborhoods identified as having the highest cancer burdens and related health disparities.
The scope of work includes delivering culturally sensitive health education, conducting cancer risk assessments, supporting screening efforts, guiding patients through the healthcare process, and facilitating timely linkage to diagnostic and treatment services across the continuum of cancer care. This approach aligns with CDPH’s Healthy Chicago Strategic Plan and centers on key guiding principles, including trauma-informed care, cultural responsiveness, and advancing health equity. Providers awarded contracts will be expected to incorporate these principles into their organizational policies and daily practice.
Organizations interested in submitting proposals must register through the City of Chicago’s eProcurement portal. The RFP, identified as number 67251, was released on June 10, 2026. A pre-solicitation conference is scheduled for June 16, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. Central Standard Time, providing an opportunity for prospective bidders to seek clarifications. Questions regarding the RFP are due by June 18, 2026, with final proposals required by July 13, 2026, at noon CST. The anticipated contract start date is August 1, 2026.
