A new dark comedy series titled “Phony” will premiere Tuesday on Hulu, exploring a rare psychological condition known as Capgras syndrome. Created by Nick Paley, the show centers on the unsettling experience of waking up after a car accident with the suspicion that one’s mother has been replaced by an impostor. The series stars Connie Britton and Sam Nivola, with the first two episodes releasing simultaneously, followed by weekly installments.
In addition, the third season of the comedy series “Nobody Wants This” will debut Thursday on Netflix. The season follows the eccentric couple Joanne, played by Kristen Bell, and Noah, portrayed by Adam Brody, as they begin living together and navigate Joanne’s conversion to Judaism. The new season introduces Sarah Silverman and Andrew Rannells to the cast, alongside returning characters such as Sasha (Timothy Simons) and Morgan (Justine Lupe). All 10 episodes will be available at once.
On Friday, AMC+ will release the series “Yaga,” featuring Hudson Williams, who previously appeared in “Heated Rivalry.” Set in a small coastal town in Canada, the show revolves around private detective Rapp, played by Noah Reid of “Schitt’s Creek,” as he investigates the death of Henry Park (Williams), heir to a local commercial fishery. Rapp collaborates with local detective Carson (Clark Backo) and university professor Katherine (Carrie-Anne Moss) in a probe that gradually uncovers elements of ancient magic and witchcraft.
