The Chinese Film Week in Oman is underway from October 21 to 24 at VOX Cinemas in the Mall of Oman, Muscat. The event opened on October 21 and is jointly organised by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Oman, the Oman Film Society, and the China Film Administration.

Under the theme “Stories Across Borders,” the festival aims to foster cultural exchange and mutual understanding between China and Oman by showcasing a diverse selection of contemporary Chinese cinema. The programme features seven films spanning various genres, including dance drama, war and history, urban romance, science fiction, animation, family drama, and action suspense.

Among the featured films are A Tapestry of a Legendary Land, Crossing, B for Busy, The Wandering Earth 2, I Am What I Am 2, Dear You, and The Shadow’s Edge. Five of these titles—A Tapestry of a Legendary Land, Crossing, B for Busy, I Am What I Am 2, and Dear You—are making their debut in Oman. The other two movies, The Wandering Earth 2 and The Shadow’s Edge, have been previously screened in the country but are returning for special showings during the event.

Organisers emphasize that the film week is designed to highlight China’s rich cultural heritage while exploring universal human experiences through storytelling. They hope the screenings will deepen artistic ties and enhance cultural understanding between Chinese and Omani audiences.

The four-day event is open to the public, including film enthusiasts and those interested in Chinese culture. Detailed screening schedules and ticketing information are accessible through the official social media channels of the Chinese Embassy in Oman and the Oman Film Society.
