Chorley secured their fourth consecutive victory with a 2-1 win over AFC Telford United in a tightly contested match at Victory Park on Saturday. Key to the home side’s success were two spectacular long-range goals that provided a crucial cushion before Telford mounted a late fightback.

The scoring opened in the 26th minute when Jack Moore initiated a swift attacking move by delivering a precise pass to Adam Blakeman. Blakeman then found space and unleashed a powerful strike from approximately 35 yards out, which curled into the top corner beyond the reach of goalkeeper Brandon Hall. The goal gave Chorley a commanding lead, and the home team extended their advantage shortly after halftime.

Moore was again instrumental, this time converting a free-kick from 25 yards that struck the underside of the crossbar and crossed the line to make it 2-0. Despite the setback, Telford showed resilience and began to apply pressure, eventually earning a goal in the 71st minute. Captain Alex Fletcher’s throw-in was flicked on to Louis Moult, who executed an impressive volley on the turn to reduce the deficit.

Telford continued to press for an equalizer, with Moult coming close to completing a comeback when his flicked shot was cleared off the line by Chorley defender Max Hunt. The visitors had a further opportunity late in stoppage time after Fletcher slipped, inadvertently releasing Jack Sampson through on goal. However, Sampson’s effort lacked power and was comfortably saved by Hall.

Despite a nervy finish as Telford sought to salvage a point, Chorley maintained their composure to claim a fourth straight triumph across all competitions. The victory keeps momentum on their side as the season progresses.
