Comedian Chris Ramsey is set to appear on the upcoming series of Celebrity Gladiators, with filming scheduled to take place later this week at Sheffield Arena. The event coincides with Ramsey’s 40th birthday, which he plans to celebrate over the weekend.
Ramsey, known for his stand-up career and previous appearance on Strictly Come Dancing in 2019 alongside professional dancer Karen Hauer, joins a lineup aimed at blending entertainment and competition. The series, a celebrity spin-off of the Gladiators franchise, has previously featured comedians such as Rob Beckett and Joel Dommett, who participated in the 2024 debut season and were well received for their comedic contribution.
This year’s cast also includes notable figures from the dance and reality TV worlds. Big Brother host AJ Odudu, who had to withdraw from the Strictly Come Dancing 2021 final due to injury, and George Clarke, a runner-up in last year’s dance competition, will also compete for the celebrity title.
Bradley Walsh and his son Barney are expected to host both the main Gladiators show and its celebrity edition. The celebrity version traditionally airs during the Christmas season. Producers reportedly sought out Ramsey to enhance the show’s entertainment value, citing his ability to bring humor to the physical challenges posed by the competition.
