An exhibition featuring the artwork of singer and musician Chrissie Hynde is set to open in Dundee this August. Titled "Chrissie Hynde: On Canvas," the show will be held at the Harvey And Woodd gallery from August 1 to August 28.
The collection will showcase 25 pieces spanning portraiture, still life, and abstract paintings. Hynde, known primarily as the lead singer of the band The Pretenders, has pursued painting alongside her music career for more than eight years. Her work has been exhibited internationally, and one of her paintings was used as the cover image for her 2019 solo album, *Valve Bone Woe*.
Hynde, who holds dual American and British citizenship, gained musical acclaim with The Pretenders, achieving six UK Top 10 singles, including the chart-topping track “Brass In Pocket.” Now 74, she continues to balance her contributions to the arts across multiple disciplines.
The Dundee exhibition marks the latest stop in Hynde’s artistic journey, offering audiences the opportunity to engage with her visual work in a dedicated gallery setting.
