Citaglobal Bhd’s indirect subsidiary has secured a contract valued at approximately RM29 million for engineering and equipment supply as part of the Siam Power Naklang waste-to-energy (WTE) project in Thailand. The contract was awarded to LAWI Engineering GmbH, a company 55% owned by Citaglobal Environment Management Sdn Bhd, itself a 56.14% owned subsidiary of Citaglobal.
The RM29 million contract forms a portion of a larger RM52.1 million agreement given to a consortium comprising LAWI Germany and its partner. This consortium is responsible for constructing the steam boiler plant and providing basic engineering services for the technological components of the overall WTE facility.
The plant, situated in Nakhon Ratchasima Province, is designed to handle up to 500 tonnes of municipal solid waste daily. It is expected to generate roughly 9.9 megawatts of electricity once operational. According to the project's timeline, the boiler island is scheduled to achieve commercial operation within 13 months from the effective date of the letter of award.
The development reflects ongoing efforts to expand waste-to-energy infrastructure in the region, aiming to improve waste management while generating sustainable power.
