A total fire ban will remain in effect across all of Sydney on Tuesday as temperatures are forecast to rise into the low 30s Celsius. The ban prohibits any open fires or activities that could spark a blaze and will be enforced for at least 24 hours.

The restriction applies to all council areas within greater Sydney, including the Blue Mountains, Sutherland Shire, and the Central Coast Council area. Fire authorities have rated the fire danger for these regions as “extreme,” the second highest level, advising residents to take immediate measures to protect their lives and property.

The heightened alert coincides with a predicted temperature peak of 33°C in Sydney, according to the Bureau of Meteorology. Other parts of New South Wales, such as the Illawarra, Shoalhaven, Greater Hunter, Northern Slopes, New England, and North Coast districts, are under a “high” fire danger rating, signaling that residents in those areas should be prepared to respond quickly if a fire occurs.

Outside these zones, fire danger levels are either classified as “moderate” or no rating has been issued. Authorities continue to monitor conditions closely as spring temperatures rise and fire risks increase across the state.
