Clubs across the football community have paid tribute to Kevin Miller, the former goalkeeper who passed away this week at the age of 57. Miller’s career spanned several decades and levels of the sport, beginning in his hometown with Falmouth Town at 19 before moving to Newquay.

He subsequently forged a notable professional career, representing clubs including Exeter City, Crystal Palace, Watford, Barnsley, Bristol Rovers, Southampton, and Torquay United. After his time in the professional ranks, Miller returned to Non-League football in October 2007 with Bodmin Town, where he continued to play until retiring in 2016 at 46.

Following his playing days, Miller remained involved in football through coaching and management. He served as joint-manager of Exmouth Town, managed Okehampton, and took on a role as a goalkeeping coach at Exeter City. His post-retirement contributions reflected his ongoing commitment to the sport beyond his time on the pitch.

Current Bodmin Town manager and former teammate Huw Morgan described Miller as a remarkable individual both on and off the field. Morgan said Miller treated every match as if it were the most significant, inspiring those around him to improve as players and teammates. “It was a privilege to be a player at Bodmin Town during Kevin’s years and to say you stood shoulder to shoulder with him,” Morgan added.

Miller’s influence extended beyond his athletic achievements, with many remembering him as an exceptional human being. His death has prompted a wave of respect and remembrance from clubs and colleagues who admired his dedication and character throughout his footballing career.
