Colin Egglesfield, known for his striking looks and a successful transition from modeling to acting, shared insights into his career and the fashion industry. The model-turned-actor recounted his journey from a self-described "dorky and nerdy" youth to becoming a prominent figure in fashion and entertainment.

Egglesfield’s entry into modeling began around age 26, following a significant growth spurt that saw him gain six inches in height. After college, he pursued a talent search that connected him with an agent. His early work quickly gained attention from top designers, leading to an eight-year stint modeling Calvin Klein underwear, as well as campaigns for Versace and Armani. His modeling career brought him to high-profile events where designer labels often provided his wardrobe.

He described a particularly memorable and embarrassing incident during a Cynthia Rowley fashion show at Grand Central Terminal. Fitted with exceptionally tight leather pants for the runway, Egglesfield encountered a wardrobe malfunction when the material tore halfway down his left leg as he ascended the stairs, forcing him to continue the walk despite the mishap. Actress Kristin Davis, present at the event, reportedly smiled upon noticing the tear.

Transitioning to acting, Egglesfield began with a role on the soap opera “All My Children,” playing the son of the character Erica Kane for three years. His career expanded with a six-year stint on “Rizzoli & Isles,” and roles in films and television series including the romantic comedy “Something Borrowed” alongside Kate Hudson, and a TV project with Jennifer Love Hewitt.

On maintaining his physique and health, Egglesfield emphasized moderation in diet despite his fondness for certain indulgences like doughnuts and cheeseburgers. As a three-time cancer survivor, he has focused on nutrition and wellness, preferring mostly protein-based, minimally processed foods. He avoids products with more than five ingredients and incorporates items such as chicken, beef, fish, vegetables, nuts, and dark chocolate into his regime.

Regarding industry dynamics, Egglesfield addressed the perception of male models within fashion circles. While not dismissed outright, he acknowledged that male models often play secondary roles compared to female models, who are generally the primary focus of campaigns and commands higher earnings. He referenced a commercial he did with Gisele Bündchen for Victoria’s Secret to illustrate the gender disparity, noting the reverence and attention female supermodels receive compared to their male counterparts.

For those looking to enhance their appearance, Egglesfield advocates practical measures such as consistent use of sun protection, hydration, healthy eating, regular physical activity, and a positive attitude. He suggested that true attractiveness extends beyond physical looks to encompass kindness and overall well-being.
