In the Atlantic Coast Conference, Cincinnati defeated Boston College 34-15, while Duke secured a 17-3 victory over Tulane. Pittsburgh dominated Miami (Ohio) 59-14, and Syracuse overwhelmed New Hampshire with a 66-3 score.
Within the Coastal Conference, Appalachian State routed Maine 55-3, and Army shut out Bryant 59-3. Coast Guard prevailed over the University of New England 49-36, Endicott beat Eastern 24-14, Framingham State won 33-21 versus Husson, Massachusetts Maritime Academy shut out Maine Maritime 49-0, and Plymouth State bested New England College 28-14. The MASCAC featured Castleton’s 29-7 win against Westfield State, Fitchburg State’s 35-26 triumph over Dean College, and a close 42-41 victory for SUNY Maritime against Worcester State. In the NEWMAC, Rensselaer defeated Worcester Polytechnic Institute 35-7.
Additional New England matchups included Colgate’s 35-10 win at Holy Cross, Stonehill’s 21-3 victory over New Haven, UConn’s dominant 56-7 performance against Lafayette, and Western Connecticut’s 27-17 win over William Paterson.
Elsewhere in the East, Lehigh defeated Georgetown 45-14, Penn State blanked Marshall 45-0, Robert Morris beat West Virginia State 29-9, and West Virginia edged Coastal Carolina 31-24.
In the South, Alabama routed East Carolina 48-10, while Alabama State shut out Lane 34-0. Auburn secured a tight 17-16 win against Baylor, and Citadel won 43-41 in triple overtime over Charlotte. North Carolina Central defeated Elizabeth City State 27-6, Georgia dominated Tennessee State 63-3, James Madison won 20-13 over Liberty, and Kentucky defeated Youngstown State 45-13. Mercer routed Presbyterian 62-3, Old Dominion won 31-10 against Norfolk State, and South Alabama beat Southeastern Louisiana 39-14. In the Midwest, Indiana defeated North Texas 52-16, Iowa blanked Northern Illinois 40-0, Iowa State triumphed 38-10 over Southeast Missouri State, and Nebraska beat Ohio 49-21. North Dakota posted a 62-26 win at St. Thomas (Minnesota), North Dakota State shut out Fordham 38-0, Ohio State overwhelmed Ball State 56-3, and Tarleton State earned a 20-13 victory over Bowling Green.
The Southwest region saw Arkansas defeating North Alabama 31-14, Houston besting Oregon State 33-20, Texas dominating Texas State 59-7, Tulsa winning 24-10 over Oklahoma State, and UTSA beating UT Rio Grande Valley 45-16.
Finally, in the West, Air Force blanked Duquesne 34-0, Colorado State defeated Wyoming 35-13, Montana won 45-10 against Drake, and Oregon edged Boise State 34-27.
