Friends of college football player Nolan Wells plan to revisit Horn Island, the Mississippi barrier island where he disappeared earlier this month. The group, which includes Wells’ close friends Warren Hudson, Jax Pitalo, and Morgan Seymour, will return to the island on Friday accompanied by their attorneys to better understand the area where the 18-year-old was last seen alive on July 4.

The visit is intended solely for familiarization with the island’s geography and environment and is not aimed at gathering or collecting evidence, according to lawyers J. Tyler Cox and Edward Andrew Paltzik. Paltzik, who has represented former President Donald Trump in media-related lawsuits, said he wants to personally inspect the island as part of their ongoing involvement in the case.

Wells vanished following a boating excursion with his friends on the Fourth of July weekend. His body was discovered two days later near Horn Island, located about 10 miles off the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Authorities have stated that no signs of foul play have emerged from their investigation to date.

Despite official statements suggesting accidental circumstances, Wells’ family has engaged civil rights attorney Ben Crump, signaling their intention to seek further answers surrounding the circumstances of his death. The upcoming visit by Wells’ friends and their legal representatives underscores the continuing attention and scrutiny the case has attracted in the weeks following the young athlete’s death.
