The Malaysian Education Minister, Datuk Seri Fadhlina Sidek, has urged victims connected to the case involving a freelance speaker under investigation for inappropriate conduct to come forward and report their experiences to the authorities. Speaking after a ceremony in Alor Gajah on Friday, Fadhlina emphasized the importance of victim reports in facilitating the ongoing investigation and enabling the ministry to take appropriate action.

“Without reports from the authorities, it will be difficult for us to take any action,” Fadhlina stated, underscoring the ministry’s commitment to maintaining safe school environments. “We want our schools to be truly safe,” she added.

The minister reiterated that all activities involving the freelance speaker have been suspended since Thursday to allow investigations to proceed without interference. She emphasized the ministry’s zero-tolerance stance on matters concerning child safety within educational settings.

“We take this seriously and urge the children or victims involved to come forward and make a report,” Fadhlina said, calling on school management and administrators to treat the issue with the utmost seriousness.

The directive to halt programs featuring the freelance speaker was issued earlier this week by Fadhlina as the authorities continue to investigate allegations of misconduct. The incident has raised concerns across the education sector regarding safeguarding students.

Also attending the event at SM Durian Tunggal was Deputy Works Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan, who joined Fadhlina for the handover of projects completed by the state Public Works Department. The ministry’s ongoing efforts reflect a broader priority to ensure a secure learning environment for all students.
