The Israeli Artists Association (EMI) announced on Tuesday that comedian Eli Yatzpan and singer Nurit Galron will receive lifetime achievement awards in 2026, recognizing their significant contributions to Israeli entertainment. The awards, considered among the highest cultural honors in the country, are presented annually to individuals who have left a lasting impact on Israel’s artistic landscape.

Yatzpan, known for his energetic style, physical comedy, and skillful celebrity impressions, rose to prominence in the 1990s and 2000s as a dominant figure on late-night television. His variety shows, characterized by visual slapstick and expressive caricatures, appealed to a diverse audience, including immigrants and expats, and remain a notable part of Israel’s pop-culture history.

Galron, a prominent vocalist whose career spans jazz, soft rock, and poetic pop, has long been a staple in Israeli music. Her soulful voice and interpretations of works by some of Israel’s most celebrated poets have made her a key figure in the country’s musical tradition. Galron’s songs continue to be widely played on national radio, and she is often regarded as an essential artist for those seeking a deeper understanding of Israel’s cultural heritage.

In addition to Yatzpan and Galron, the association will honor other veteran artists, including stand-up comedian and theater director Shmuel Vilozny, as well as musicians Itzik Kala and Rami Danoch. Rising indie-pop singer Alma Gov will receive the Breakthrough Artist Award, acknowledging her emerging influence in the music scene.

The awards will be presented during EMI’s annual “Notnim Kavod” (Paying Tribute) gala, an event that celebrates decades of creative achievement and honors those who have shaped the nation’s cultural fabric.
