Comedian Miranda Hart has spoken about her return to television following a prolonged and challenging battle with serious health issues. At age 53, Hart appeared on the reality competition show The Celebrity Traitors, marking a significant milestone in her recovery journey.

Hart has been contending with undiagnosed Lyme disease that developed into myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME), a chronic illness that left her largely confined to her home for several years. The debilitating condition forced her to step back from her professional career and limited her daily activities.

Her participation in The Celebrity Traitors represents her first major television role since her health declined. During the show, Hart was visibly frustrated when she was voted out, describing the experience as extraordinary. She expressed gratitude for the opportunity to return to work and for regaining enough strength to enjoy personal pursuits, including hiking in the Scottish Highlands—an activity she once feared would no longer be possible.

Hart’s return to the public eye highlights both the difficulties faced by those with chronic illnesses and the potential for recovery and renewed engagement with life and career after long-term health struggles.
