Comedian Rob Beckett encountered unexpected challenges from wildlife while filming his new series, Tempting Fortune, in Malaysia. During the shoot, the 40-year-old entertainer was repeatedly harassed by local monkeys at the resort where he was staying, leading him to seek refuge in his hotel room on several occasions.

Beckett described the monkeys as aggressive, noting that they disrupted his filming and caused considerable discomfort. According to him, the animals would scream at him persistently until he provided food, prompting hotel staff to intervene to move the monkeys away.

The comedian speculated that his characteristic smile, which he wears as part of his comedic persona, might have inadvertently provoked the animals. He explained that monkeys display aggression by baring their teeth, suggesting that his grin may have been interpreted as a challenge, thereby escalating their hostile behavior.

Tempting Fortune is scheduled to premiere on Channel 4 on September 22 at 9:30 p.m.
