Comedian Rob Beckett is preparing for a challenging run on the new series of *Celebrity Traitors*, acknowledging that his expressive nature may hinder his ability to conceal his thoughts during the game. Filmed in May and set to air on BBC One and iPlayer starting tomorrow at 8 p.m., the show features a group of celebrities navigating alliances and accusations within a competitive elimination format.

Beckett, appearing alongside long-time friend and fellow comedian Romesh Ranganathan, said he plans to rely on spontaneous decision-making rather than overanalysis, hoping his comedic instinct for deflection will serve him well. “I’ll be good at deflecting with humour because that’s what I’ve been trained to do,” he explained, while admitting his facial expressions often reveal more than he intends. The South London-based comic highlighted the surreal atmosphere of the show, noting many cast members, including Joe Lycett and James Acaster, have shared stages with him early in their careers. “It’s quite a reflective moment to consider this journey to being on one of the biggest shows on TV,” he said.

Beckett also expressed openness about whether he would be assigned the role of a Traitor, leaving the decision to the programme’s presenter, Claudia Winkleman, and production team. Though he joked he might be the quickest Traitor eliminated due to his openness, he emphasized that as a performer, his background in reading and influencing audiences might give him an edge in navigating the social dynamics of the game.

Other contestants offered perspectives on the competitive environment. Comedian Joanne McNally predicted that the group’s six comedians would readily betray each other if it improved their chances, stating there were no false alliances among them. McNally, 43, described the cast as an eclectic mix, likening them to a group of ex-partners with little consistency. She said her strengths include detecting lies and reading body language, hoping those skills would help her if selected as a Traitor.

Actor Sebastian Croft, 24, reported plans to keep a low profile, banking on his relative unfamiliarity with the rest of the cast. Croft, known for his role in *Heartstopper*, mentioned consulting a tarot reader and astrologer ahead of filming but declined to share details, citing concerns about spoiling the outcome.

YouTuber and boxer King Kenny, 29, enters the competition motivated by a sense of loyalty. After his friend Niko Omilana was the first contestant eliminated in last year’s edition, King Kenny said he was determined to perform better on his watch.

Last year’s *Celebrity Traitors* set viewership records with 15 million tuning in. The new series promises to continue the blend of strategy, social maneuvering, and celebrity interplay that contributed to its popularity.
