Comedian and television presenter Sue Perkins has revealed how she keeps half of her late father’s ashes along with those of several family pets in her home. Speaking on the podcast *Where There’s A Will, There’s A Wake*, Perkins, 57, described how she stores the remains in her wardrobe and on shelves.
Perkins explained that the other half of her father’s ashes were scattered in Cornwall. However, the process of spreading his ashes did not go smoothly. She said her father’s remains had been kept in a damp environment, causing them to clump together. This led to her brother having to use a drill to break up the ashes before they could be scattered.
The comedian also shared some light-hearted family moments during the scattering. While trying to spread the ashes on a beach, when it was Perkins’ turn, her sister cautioned her not to use all of their father’s remains at once. “Classic sisters,” she remarked.
In addition to her father’s ashes, Perkins also retains the ashes of several pets, including a Labrador, a Staffordshire bull terrier, and two beagles, preserving their memory alongside her father’s remains in her home.
