The Washington Commanders face several injury uncertainties ahead of their upcoming game against the Indianapolis Colts at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Head coach Ron Rivera provided updates on the health status of multiple players following the team’s recent victory over the Seattle Seahawks.

Right guard Sam Cosmi, sidelined since Week 2 due to a concussion, remains doubtful for the trip. Rivera said a decision regarding his availability will be made on Tuesday. Similarly, safety Nick Cross, who last week missed action due to an internal injury, has yet to be cleared for play.

Linebacker Leo Chenal underwent season-ending surgery Monday to repair a neck fracture sustained during Sunday’s game. While Rivera did not offer a long-term prognosis, he confirmed the procedure went well, describing Chenal as an important contributor both on and off the field. The linebacker position is currently thin, compounded by the continued absence of Jordan Magee, who remains on injured reserve with a hamstring injury. Should defensive end Jamin Davis’s status remain uncertain, either Kain Medrano or Ale Kaho is expected to step into the linebacker role for the Colts matchup.

Safety Percy Butler was recently placed in the concussion protocol, further affecting the team’s defensive depth.

On offense, running back Rachaad White suffered a shoulder injury during the game against Seattle. Although White finished the contest, his participation against Indianapolis is not guaranteed. To reinforce the backfield, the Commanders signed running back Austin Ekeler on Monday. Ekeler, who played two seasons with Washington before missing time last year due to a torn Achilles, is expected to travel with the team and integrate into the offense under the new system. Rivera expressed optimism about Ekeler’s involvement over the next few days leading up to the game.
