Compass Group, the world’s largest catering company, has reported increased business driven by its involvement in the 2023 FIFA World Cup held across the United States and Canada, as well as expanding operations within the technology sector. In a recent update to investors, the outsourcing giant highlighted its role in providing catering services at matches hosted in 16 cities and stadiums across the two countries, contributing to a rise in demand.

In addition to its World Cup engagement, Compass disclosed it is capitalizing on growing opportunities in the data centre industry, particularly through partnerships with major artificial intelligence companies. The firm is supplying food services along with facilities management and cleaning support to data centres involved in building and operating critical infrastructure for AI hyperscalers.

Compass said these efforts have led to more than $2 billion in new contracts across various industries, supporting its broader growth strategy. The company reported a 7.1 percent increase in sales for the quarter ending in June compared with the same period last year, reflecting gains from both its sporting event presence and technology sector engagements.
