Victoria’s Secret model Leomie Anderson has expressed concerns about the growing trend among models to use weight-loss injections to achieve a slimmer appearance for fashion shows. Speaking at the opening of the Hard Rock Hotel Malta in St Julian’s, Anderson, 33, described the practice as a “fashion faux pas” and cautioned against the unregulated use of these treatments.

Anderson highlighted the potential health risks associated with weight-loss injections when taken without medical supervision. She emphasized that while such treatments may be appropriate for individuals with legitimate health concerns, taking them purely for aesthetic purposes, especially when promoted on social media platforms, is potentially dangerous. “If it’s for health reasons then of course go ahead, but it’s quite dangerous for people who are taking it unprescribed and promoting it on social media where people can see it,” she said.

The model, known for her role in Victoria’s Secret shows and her outspoken views on body positivity, also shared her approach to maintaining her physique. She stressed the importance of balance and self-acceptance, stating, “I eat whatever I want to eat, it’s all about balance. Take me as I am.”

The comments come amid increasing scrutiny of health and wellness practices within the fashion industry, where pressure to conform to ultra-thin standards has led some models to explore quick weight-loss methods. Anderson’s remarks reflect a growing call among industry figures to promote sustainable and healthy approaches to body image rather than risky shortcuts.
